Google video leads to court case

Posted on | September 30, 2009 | No Comments

“The trial of four Google employees has begun in Milan with an engineer from the search giant giving evidence.

The employees are accused of breaking Italian law in allowing a video of a teenager with Down’s Syndrome to be posted online.”

This seems puzzling, since the video was posted before Google bought YouTube, and they removed the video as soon as they were made aware of the problem. Rather than prosecuting the people that DID remove the video, why not seek their co-operation in

a. raising awareness of Down’s syndrome

b. Using the available technology to help track and prosecute the guilty parties.
