The hedge apple. I’ve heard that the American has scads of these in his small woodland. Rabbits eat them when food is scarce in winter.

A very, very small section of woods. The surrounding area of woodland was bulldozed by the rich guy who bought the adjacent property. He did so to put in a few ponds. The ponds are nice but I'd rather have had the wooded area. I enjoy my little section most in spring. The wildflowers, ferns and other native plants are pretty then.
